Choosing Keywords for the SEO – A Brand New Way

The first thing one must do when creating a search engine optimization is choosing the keywords. Generally, keywords are chosen by the rate of probability the word will be able to attract a good number of traffic and have the least number of competitors. I would like to present an unusual theory that some internet experts might find funny.

Do It In A Huge Way, In Fact, In A Very Huge Way

Doing a study to find out which keywords get more attention is absolutely right. Then you should detect what keywords have the least number of competitions. Naturally, you would think than no one will dare challenge the keywords used by millions of sites. I would.

For instance, users that use a key phrase such as “for sale by owner” (which yielded more than 2 million searches monthly and a KEI of 0.0000000) are readily written-off as newcomers with very high expectations. Those of us, who are already veterans in the business, should rethink this commonly accepted idea. The driving factor for most is basically pure avarice.

Generally, avarice in SEO happens when one reaches the peak of the listings of the major search engines – Google, Yahoo and Bing. Let us use the niche above as an example, the site lists car and you have gotten all the listings under “car for sale by owner.” It took you 15 months to reach the top and the consumer is content and so should you.

Yet several weeks after, you start thinking … if you used the term ‘for sale by owner’ you would have gotten an additional 700,000 searches monthly. You seem inconsolable and now think of changing the keywords but everything has been set and would entail a lot of work and you feel discontented despite your top ranking.

Another Way of Looking At Things

I am not saying that thinking of ways to stay on top is bad. While it is true that you should truly use keywords that can establish substantial traffic and the very least competition, too much greed is no longer healthy even for the sake of SEO. It is okay to have short-term perks to keep you driven.

Here goes….

What I am encouraging you to do is use keywords that will generate a huge number of traffic and forget about analysis of competition. I know a lot of internet experts will not agree with me and might even take me for a fool.

This could really be taken by some as reckless… consider using just one-word key words… so there… before you argue with me or call me names, just give it a little thought. As you have already achieved your objective with the least competition keywords, then you can try your hand at going for the huge ones. There is no telling how many of them you will get. Even if you just get a few, it will still be worth the effort.

In summary, this is how it is going to work. You have to ascertain the low competition keywords and use it to optimize your site. Then include some “dream” keywords. After three or four years, if the site is still exists, then you can look back appreciatively that you did this.

Now I am going to optimize for the keyword “travel”. As you can see, Expedia is number 1 on the list, page ranked at page 8 and yields 67,000 back links on Google.

So you see, that is exactly what I meant!
